For the Stir-Fry:

  • 1 cup shiitake mushrooms, sliced thin
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper for seasoning
  • 4 green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped small
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon neutral cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 4 cups cabbage, cut into strips
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • An inch of ginger, minced up

For Serving:

  • Cooked white rice

Instructions

  1. Prep: Warm up your oil in a big pan over medium heat.
  2. Start Aromatics: Toss in ginger and garlic, let them sizzle for 30 seconds.
  3. Cook Beef: Break apart the beef in the pan and let it cook until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Add Vegetables: Cook mushrooms for 3 minutes, add cabbage and let it wilt for another 5 minutes or so.
  5. Finish: Stir in your sauces, seasonings, and green onions. Pile it on top of rice to serve.

  • Skip oyster sauce if you want.
