Description

This Breakfast Pizza recipe combines a soft, homemade yeast dough with crispy bacon, scrambled eggs, and melted mozzarella cheese, making a flavorful and hearty morning meal that’s perfect for sharing.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pizza Dough

  • 1 ½2 cups all-purpose flour (195g, plus more for rolling)
  • 1 package instant or quick yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • ¾ teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon granulated sugar
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅔ cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons oil

For the Topping

  • 3 slices thick cut bacon
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 green onion (sliced, about 1 tablespoon)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Pizza Dough: In a medium bowl, combine 1 cup of the all-purpose flour, yeast, salt, sugar, dried oregano, and garlic powder. Add warm water and oil, stirring until combined to form a very wet dough.
  2. Knead the Dough: Gradually add remaining flour to the dough. Knead briefly until a soft, non-sticky dough forms that feels pliable but not firm. Press, fold, and knead until ready.
  3. Let Dough Rise: Place dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm, draft-free spot until doubled in size, about 40 minutes.
  4. Cook the Bacon: Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with foil and arrange bacon slices. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crispy. Remove and let cool on paper towels before chopping.
  5. Prepare Scrambled Eggs: Whisk eggs, milk, salt, and pepper. Cook in a medium skillet over medium heat, stirring frequently until softly scrambled. Set aside.
  6. Shape the Pizza Crust: Roll out the risen dough slightly larger than a 12-inch pizza pan. Place the dough on a lightly greased pan, fold edges slightly and pinch to create a thicker crust rim.
  7. Brush the Crust: Mix oil with garlic powder and dried parsley, then brush this mixture over the pizza crust evenly.
  8. Add Toppings and Bake: Spread the scrambled eggs, chopped bacon, and shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the crust. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until cheese is bubbly and crust is golden.
  9. Finish and Serve: Sprinkle sliced green onions over the hot pizza and serve immediately for a delicious breakfast treat.

Notes

  • For best results, ensure water is warm but not hot to activate the yeast properly.
  • You can substitute bacon with sausage or omit for a vegetarian option (adjust dietary classification accordingly).
  • Use a pizza stone for extra crispiness if preferred.
  • Make sure not to over-knead the dough; it should remain soft and slightly sticky for tenderness.
  • Leftover pizza can be refrigerated and reheated; best consumed within 2 days.
