Description

Catch a Husband Cake is a rich and moist Bundt cake that combines the creamy flavors of sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, and whole milk. It is a dense, custard-like dessert that’s baked in a water bath to achieve a perfectly smooth texture, then chilled and garnished with shredded coconut for an irresistible tropical finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat and prepare pan: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan thoroughly to ensure the cake does not stick after baking.
  2. Blend ingredients: In a blender or large mixing bowl, combine the sweetened condensed milk, coconut milk, whole milk, eggs, flour, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and baking powder. Blend or mix until the batter is completely smooth and well incorporated.
  3. Pour and set up water bath: Pour the smooth batter into the prepared bundt pan. Place the bundt pan inside a larger baking dish or roasting pan and fill the outer pan with hot water halfway up the sides of the bundt pan to create a water bath. This helps the cake cook evenly and prevents cracking.
  4. Bake: Place the water bath setup in the oven and bake the cake for 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. The cake should be set but still moist and custardy.
  5. Cool: Remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool in the bundt pan for 15 minutes. Then carefully remove the cake from the pan.
  6. Chill and garnish: Refrigerate the cake for at least 2 hours before serving to allow it to fully set and chill. Before serving, garnish with shredded coconut to add texture and enhance the coconut flavor.

Notes

  • You can substitute whole milk with light coconut milk for a richer coconut flavor.
  • If you prefer a less sweet cake, reduce the sugar by up to 1/4 cup.
  • Using a water bath is essential to avoid cracks and to achieve a silky texture.
  • This cake is best served chilled and keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For an added twist, top with toasted coconut flakes or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
