Description
Easy Crescent Roll Taco Pizza combines the flaky, buttery goodness of crescent rolls with savory taco-seasoned ground beef, creamy salsa-infused topping, fresh tomatoes, shredded cheddar jack cheese, and crisp lettuce for a quick, flavorful dinner that everyone will love.
Ingredients
Scale
For the crust:
- 2 tubes refrigerated crescent rolls
For the creamy topping:
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 3 tbsp sour cream
- 2 tbsp jarred salsa
For the taco meat:
- 1 1/4 lb ground beef
- 1 envelope taco seasoning
For the toppings:
- 3 to 4 diced roma tomatoes
- 4 to 5 oz shredded cheddar jack cheese
- 1/2 oz bag shredded lettuce
Instructions
- Bake the Crescent Roll Base: Preheat the oven to 350°F. Unroll the crescent rolls and spread them out across a cookie sheet, pinching seams together to seal. Bake according to package instructions until golden brown. Let cool completely before adding toppings. You can also cover lightly and leave overnight at room temperature for convenience.
- Prepare the Taco Meat: While the crust cools, brown ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat, add taco seasoning and water as per packet instructions. Stir and simmer until sauce thickens. Allow to cool slightly.
- Prepare Toppings: Dice roma tomatoes into bite-sized pieces. In a medium bowl, mix softened cream cheese, sour cream, and salsa until smooth to create the creamy pizza sauce.
- Assemble the Crescent Taco Pizza: Spread the creamy topping evenly over the cooled crescent roll crust. Layer cooked taco meat on top, followed by diced tomatoes. Sprinkle shredded cheddar jack cheese and finish with shredded lettuce, piling a bit heavier in the center for extra flavor.
- Serve: Cut the pizza into equal squares and serve immediately. Best enjoyed fresh. Leftovers can be refrigerated for 1-2 days.
Notes
- Ensure the crescent roll crust is completely cooled before spreading the creamy topping to avoid melting the cheese and affecting texture.
- Taco seasoning packets usually require water; follow packet instructions for best results.
- For an extra kick, add jalapeños or hot sauce to the creamy topping.
- Leftover pizza can be reheated briefly in the oven for crispiness or served cold.
- Use fresh lettuce and tomatoes added last to maintain crisp texture.
