Ingredients
Scale
Meat and Seasoning
- 1 pound ground beef (Ground turkey or chicken can be used for a lighter option)
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 clove fresh garlic, minced)
- 1 teaspoon onion powder (or chopped fresh onion, moisture reduced)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper (white pepper for subtler spice)
Cheese and Dough
- 8 cubes cheddar cheese (Any melty cheese like Monterey Jack or pepper jack can be used)
- 1 can refrigerated biscuit dough (8-count) (or homemade/pizza dough)
Topping and Garnish
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (or olive oil for dairy-free)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (adjust to taste)
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese (or Pecorino Romano for sharper taste)
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleaning easier.
- Cook Ground Beef. In a skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound of ground beef until browned, about 6-8 minutes. Drain the excess fat, then stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper. Let the meat mixture cool slightly to make it easier to handle.
- Prepare Biscuit Dough. Flatten each of the 8 biscuit dough rounds into approximately 3-inch wide circles to create a base for stuffing.
- Assemble Bombs. Spoon a generous amount of the cooled beef mixture into the center of each dough circle. Place a cube of cheddar cheese on top of the beef filling.
- Seal Balls. Fold the edges of the biscuit dough over the filling, pinching the dough to seal completely and roll each into a smooth ball to prevent leakage during baking.
- Place on Sheet. Arrange the sealed dough balls seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet, spaced evenly to allow for expansion.
- Make Garlic Butter. Melt butter in a small pan over low heat, then stir in minced garlic to infuse the butter with flavor.
- Brush and Garnish. Brush the garlic butter evenly over each dough ball. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese and chopped fresh parsley on top for an aromatic, flavorful finish.
- Bake. Bake in the preheated oven for 15–18 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and cooked through. Monitor closely to avoid over-baking.
- Cool and Serve. Allow the cheeseburger bombs to cool slightly before serving warm alongside your favorite dipping sauces for the best tasting experience.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for ground beef to reduce fat content.
- Use fresh garlic and onions instead of powders, but be mindful of moisture to keep dough from becoming soggy.
- Cheddar cheese cubes can be swapped with any melting cheese such as Monterey Jack or pepper jack for a spice variation.
- Brush with olive oil instead of butter for a dairy-free version.
- These bombs can be made ahead and baked fresh just before serving.
- Serve with ketchup, mustard, or your favorite burger sauces for added flavor.
