Description
This Peppermint Swirl Fudge recipe combines creamy white and semi-sweet chocolates with festive peppermint flavors, creating a rich and visually stunning treat. Perfect for holiday gift-giving or indulgent snacking, this no-bake fudge features a beautiful swirl design and a crunchy peppermint candy topping.
Ingredients
Scale
Fudge Base
- 14 oz (1 can) sweetened condensed milk
- 3 cups white chocolate chips
- 3 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp peppermint extract
Toppings and Decoration
- 1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies
- Red food coloring (optional for extra swirl effect)
Instructions
- Prepare the Pan: Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with parchment paper, allowing the paper to overhang the edges for easy removal of the fudge later.
- Melt Chocolate: In two separate bowls, melt the white and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Use the microwave by heating in 30-second intervals and stirring in between, or melt slowly over a double boiler on the stove until smooth.
- Mix Ingredients: Stir half of the sweetened condensed milk into each bowl of melted chocolate until the mixture is smooth and well combined.
- Add Peppermint: Add the peppermint extract to the white chocolate mixture and stir thoroughly to infuse the flavor.
- Create Layers: Pour half of the semi-sweet chocolate mixture into the prepared pan and smooth into an even layer. Immediately pour half of the white chocolate mixture on top. Repeat with the remaining chocolate mixtures. Use a knife to gently swirl the layers together for a marbled peppermint effect.
- Add Peppermint Candies: Sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies evenly over the top. Optionally, add a few drops of red food coloring and swirl with a toothpick to enhance the red swirl effect visually.
- Chill: Refrigerate the fudge for at least 4 hours or until it is completely firm and set.
- Serve: Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the fudge out of the pan. Cut into squares and serve chilled or at room temperature.
Notes
- Use high-quality chocolate chips for the best flavor and texture.
- If you prefer a stronger peppermint taste, you can add an additional 1/2 teaspoon of peppermint extract.
- Store fudge in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
- You can substitute crushed candy canes for peppermint candies if desired.
- To avoid grainy texture when melting chocolate, do not overheat; stir frequently.
