Description

Savor a rich and creamy meal with these delicious Steak Bites paired with shell pasta in a homemade Garlic Butter Alfredo Sauce. Tender pieces of seared steak combined with pasta coated in a luscious Parmesan cream sauce make this dish a perfect comfort food for dinner.

Ingredients

Scale

Steak and Pasta

  • 12 oz steak (ribeye, sirloin, or filet mignon), cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 8 oz shell pasta
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Garlic Butter Alfredo Sauce

  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • Reserved pasta water (as needed)
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add shell pasta and cook until al dente according to the package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water before draining. Set pasta aside.
  2. Season Steak: Pat the steak bites dry with paper towels. Season generously with salt and black pepper to enhance the flavor and prepare for searing.
  3. Sear Steak Bites: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange steak bites in a single layer, searing them for 2-3 minutes per side until they develop a deep brown crust and are cooked to your liking. Remove steak from skillet, transfer to a plate, and cover loosely with foil to keep warm.
  4. Sauté Garlic in Butter: Reduce heat to medium. Add unsalted butter to the same skillet and melt. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned, releasing its flavor into the butter.
  5. Make Alfredo Sauce: Pour in heavy cream and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese until the sauce becomes smooth and creamy. Season with additional salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Toss Pasta in Sauce: Add the cooked shell pasta to the Alfredo sauce in the skillet. Toss gently to ensure every shell is coated with the rich sauce. If the sauce seems too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach the desired consistency.
  7. Plate and Serve: Serve the creamy pasta on plates, topping each serving with the warm, juicy steak bites and any juices left on the plate. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Serve immediately while hot.

Notes

  • For perfectly cooked steak bites, do not overcrowd the skillet; sear in batches if needed.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan cheese for the best flavor and smooth sauce texture.
  • Adjust the amount of reserved pasta water to achieve your preferred sauce thickness.
  • Serve with a side of steamed vegetables or a fresh green salad for a balanced meal.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
